COVID-19 Information and Resources

As a company who focuses on treatments and diagnostics for infectious diseases, we are dedicated to providing the most up-to-date information and resources for the COVID-19 virus pandemic.

Here is the following information as share by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC):

How it Spreads

  • There is currently no vaccine to prevent nor treatment to cure coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)

  • The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus.

  • The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person and is known to be stable for several days on surfaces, hence the multiple recommendations for washing one’s hands and avoiding touching one’s face.

  • These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs.'

  • People can show no symptoms and yet be infectious. This is why transmission is so elevated.

  • Due to a backlog of testing in the US and elsewhere, the actual number of cases far exceeds the reported one.

How to Protect Yourself

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.

  • If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together until they feel dry.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick

  • Put distance between yourself and other people if COVID-19 is spreading in your community

Symptoms

  • Reported illnesses have ranged from mild symptoms to severe illness and death for confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases.

  • The following symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure: fever, cough, shortness of breath.

  • A scientific publication suggests that 50% of the people develop the symptoms 2-5 days after infection, and the other 50% 6-14 days after infection. This supports the recommendation for the 14-day quarantine.

  • If you develop emergency warning signs for COVID-19 get medical attention immediately: difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, persistent pain or pressure in the chest, confusion, bluish lips or face.
