Health For All Humanity - 2024

Sunday, september 29

The Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center

Thank you to those who joined us on September 29, 2024 at the Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center for our sixth annual San Diego Health For All Humanity night, in support of discovery of new treatments and diagnostics for diseases that affect vulnerable populations! The night was filled with networking and philanthropy at its finest with co-emcees Phil Blauer and Maria Arcega-Dunn leading the crowd through the program.

We were honored to have Meredith Wadman, a Senior Reporter at Science Magazine as this year’s keynote speaker. Meredith shared her experience travelling to South Africa in the early 1990’s, and then again thirty years later, only to see a lack of development in the treatment of infectious diseases and the state of infrastructure. Her presentation emphasized the work that continues to be needed to help combat neglected tropical diseases, including the ongoing development of rapid diagnostic tests.

Our own CEO, Dr. Marco Biamonte, shared several updates on the current programs we are working on, as well as information on what we have been doing. As DDTD focuses on developing ultra-low-cost treatments and diagnostics for diseases that affect impoverished populations, proceeds from this year’s event will support the seeding new projects, such as those outlined by Dr. Biamonte. We are passionate about serving the needs of the underprivileged and believe it is important to increase public awareness of the dire need to improve global health.
