Universal Lateral Flow Assay
The Universal IgG Lateral Flow Assay is a highly sensitive Research Use Only device intended to detect human IgG antibodies (Pan-IgG and IgG4) specific for any given antigen. The user selects the antigen of choice, which must be biotinylated, and adds it to the sample (Product insert for more details).
Developing a lateral flow assay requires expertise and manufacturing equipment which is not necessarily available in every laboratory. The Universal IgG Lateral Flow Assay provides companies developing antibody/serological tests to screen antigens and confirm viability/compatibility. The test can also be useful for developers to validate antigens/peptides in-house.
All parameters, such as the choice of nanoparticles, materials, and surfactants, have been optimized to provide maximum sensitivity in saline, serum, and whole blood. The platform is rapidly customizable to any antigen if it can be biotinylated. Use of the Universal LFA requires minimal financial investment, and can rapidly create a business case for a new discovery. One box of Universal LFA’s contain 20 tests and cost $140 (not including shipping).
DDTD offers customization services, such as drying your antigen within the test strip, providing you with your own rapid test, ready to be commercialized under your name, for an additional fee (contact us for more information).
DDTD is also developing multi-plex systems that will allow you to screen multiple biomarkers in one test and anticipate these types of universal tests to be available in Q4 2022.
